Samuel Gawith Sam’s Flake is a traditional Virginia/Oriental blend from the Kendal Mayor’s Collection, combining flue-cured Virginias with Turkish/Oriental leaf. After blending, the tobaccos are hot-pressed, sliced into traditional Flakes, and finished with a light Tonquin Bean casing. Virginia provides natural sweetness with grassy, hay-like and bready notes, while the Turkish leaf contributes earthy, woody, herbal and gently spicy complexity. The restrained Tonquin topping adds subtle vanilla-like, floral and warm sweet nuances without overwhelming the underlying tobaccos.
