DTM St. Bernard Flake is a traditional Virginia/Perique (VaPer) Flake produced in the classic English manner from naturally sweet, mature Virginias and distinctive Louisiana Perique, with no added flavoring. The tobaccos are fermented under pressure into cakes, allowed to rest and mature for several months, and finally sliced into thin Flakes / Navy Cut. Virginia provides natural honeyed sweetness with bread, hay, grain and ripe-fruit nuances, while Perique contributes pronounced peppery spice, gentle tanginess and fermented dark-fruit notes reminiscent of plum and raisin. Extended pressing and maturation integrate the two components into a rich yet remarkably smooth tobacco, offering substantial flavor without becoming harsh. It is an excellent traditional VaPer for smokers who appreciate naturally sweet Virginia, clearly defined Perique spice and classic pressed-flake craftsmanship.
