Naturally sweet Virginias are combined with a high proportion of Latakia, fermented under pressure and matured extensively before being sliced into Flake / Navy Cut. The resulting nearly black tobacco delivers powerful smoky, tarry, campfire, woody and leathery notes, balanced by the subtle natural sweetness, hay and bread character of Virginia. With no added flavoring, Old Ironsides remains intensely tobacco-forward, yet its slow-burning pressed format produces a surprisingly cool and smooth smoke.
