McConnell Black & Gold is one of McConnell’s classic blends, dating back to 1848. It combines bright Virginia with rich Black Cavendish, complemented by Oriental/Turkish tobacco and Louisiana Perique, with a delicate touch of vanilla. Virginia contributes natural sweetness and light grain and hay notes, while Black Cavendish provides a smooth, creamy body. Oriental adds subtle spice and herbal complexity, and Perique contributes restrained dark-fruit and peppery notes. The vanilla topping rounds out the blend without completely masking its natural tobacco character. Mild in strength with a medium taste and pleasant room note, Black & Gold is a versatile aromatic suitable for everyday smoking.
